Some albums are iconic. They set the bar and stand the test of time.
One of these albums is (imho) Carole King's Tapestry. I've re-created this album, Monsieur Maurice Style. I've also kept on the original track sequence, plus a little MM extra.
Tracks
01 I Feel the Earth Move - Don Ellis Orchestra
02 So Far Away - The Crusaders
03 It's Too Late - Johnny Hammond
04 Home Again - B.W. Stevenson

On a more personal note, we've had some sad news. Early October we had to say goodbye to the 'real' Monsieur Maurice. Our Extraordinary Cat. He was an elderly gentleman and he became very ill. The only humane thing left was letting him go. Saying goodbye was very hard, and we miss him terribly.

I never realized there was a "real" Mm. Maurice. So sad. We listen in his memory.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenyou may not remember me - from the ffshrine 'From the Attic' thread. As Guideff, I went AWOL from the shrine about 3 years back - but I do remember you - and your love of cats in particular your Mm. Maurice - I'm just now listening to your MM's Undun - Disk 1.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI think at the time I was still at the Shrine, I mentioned also our cat (called Max) that had a feline leukemia, and as long as he doen't go outside he's fine - we still have him (he'll probably outlive me).
Loss of someone so close is heart rendering - M Maurice R.I.P. may my heart felt wishes go with you.
- Guideff
Of course I remember you Guideff, and all the work we put into the AAA series! I too retired a while back from the ffShrine. Only lurking now from time to time to check out what is offered. I'm glad we got to find each other again. Thank you for the kind words regarding our beloved Monsieur Maurice. We miss him and his antics every day. But his memory lives on in this Blog and in every compilation I make. Welcome my friend in my little corner of the web and I hope you'll enjoy my offerings.
VerwijderenIf you wish to you can find my email in the Profile section of this Blog.
Greetings and my best wishes for you and your loved ones (Max included obviously) for the Holidays.
